A BRAND EMBODIED
Babusia was not built around a simple aesthetic concept.
It was born out of a family history, my Polish roots, and the women who shaped my childhood.
Before being jewellery, the pieces are an extension of a personal memory: discreet presences, tied scarves, faces I have encountered.
Babusia is inseparable from this heritage.
PRESERVING MEMORY
Over time, certain images have faded. Silhouettes of women, gestures, glances that I did not want to see disappear.
Creating Babusia has become a way of holding on to them.
The jewellery is not merely something to be worn: it is fragments of memory, traces made visible.
FIGURES THAT CARRY MEANING
The faces featured in the collections are not merely decorative.
They bear names, presences, and sometimes family memories. They are extensions of real or imagined women, drawn from my lineage. They are never conceived as mere motifs, but as living figures.
TRANSMITTING IN A DIFFERENT WAY
Babusia is a way of circulating a woman’s story.
When stories, languages or gestures fade away, jewellery becomes another form of transmission.
Discreet, yet alive. Each piece becomes a silent link between past and present.
HANDMADE
Each piece of jewellery is designed and then crafted by hand, using thread and Japanese glass beads. No stage of the process is mechanised.
The time devoted to the making is an integral part of each piece’s value, like an extension of the craftsmanship and the story it carries.
UNIQUENESS
Each creation is a unique piece.
No two pieces are exactly alike.
This uniqueness reflects the idea that jewellery is a personal encounter, not an object that can be reproduced indefinitely.
CREATING TO THE RHYTHM OF THE SEASONS
The collections are born from a specific moment: a light, a colour, a season. They appear, remain for the duration of the inspiration that gave them life, then fade away. Creating in this way means respecting a natural rhythm, far removed from continuous production.
REFUSING OVERPRODUCTION
Babusia chooses to produce in small quantities. No massive stockpiles, no manufacturing in advance.
Each piece exists because it has found its purpose, and then makes way for the next.
